Kristina Hogstrom joined the Space Structures laboratory in 2013 as a NASA Space Technology Research Fellow and Keck Institute for Space Studies Fellow, after receiving her M.S. in Space Engineering from Caltech. She earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Astronomy from Boston University, where she was a Trustee scholar and the salutatorian of the 2011 College of Engineering graduating class. Her research focuses on the behavior of deployable modules for robotically assembled space structures, such as large space-based optical reflectors. She is particularly interested in how fabrication and assembly errors affect deployment reliability and accumulate during in-space construction.
